Angie Papas leads a citywide holiday initiative delivering thoughtful Christmas gifts to people experiencing homelessness and to residents in seniors’ homes. What began as a small act of kindness has grown into a coordinated effort that brings comfort, dignity, and a sense of belonging during the winter season.
What we do
Collect new, season-appropriate gifts: warm clothing, hygiene kits, snacks, handwritten cards, and small comforts.
Assemble and distribute gift bags through shelters, outreach teams, and direct visits to seniors’ residences.
Partner with local businesses, faith groups, and volunteers to maximize impact and reduce waste.
Prioritize respect and choice—asking recipients what they need most and tailoring bags accordingly.
Why it matters The holidays can be isolating, especially for seniors without nearby family and for neighbors living outdoors or in temporary housing. A simple, well-chosen gift and a friendly conversation can restore warmth, hope, and human connection.
Angie Papas has always believed that strong communities start with strong families. Her work in Ajax is rooted in the same values she lives by every day, respect, compassion, and putting people first.
Since 2018, Angie has dedicated her time to supporting families, seniors, and individuals across the community through outreach programs, volunteer initiatives, food drives, and local fundraising efforts. Her approach is personal: listen first, show up consistently, and always lead with care.
At the heart of Angie’s mission is family, her own and those she serves. She understands that when families are supported, communities thrive. That belief continues to guide her vision for Ward 3, where she is focused on creating safer, stronger, and more connected neighbourhoods for every generation.
Now, she brings that same hands-on commitment and family-centered mindset to everything she does in Ward 3.
